Victory at Kudu
Submitted by Harry on Tue, 20/10/2009 - 18:42So arriving at the very hard to find site at about 5, we had to then wait another hour or two for the rest of our teams to arrive! Both teams leaving at about 8, we actually started by walking in the wrong direction, but only got a few meters before realising (15 is an odd number)
After failing on the first base and only getting 1 Kudu Shield out of three, our teamwork and co-ordination did improve, and we did get 3 out of 3 on the last base!
Bases included a kidney removal situation, A large Zip-wire, A vomiting concussionist, and many more.
I recomend it to more people next year as whoever didn't do it missed out!
Oh and we finished at 4.30 in the morning, which is good compared to the last teams finish of 6!

Sex ed in scouts. Whats going on?
Submitted by Harry on Tue, 02/06/2009 - 22:33Have what I've heard about sex education meaning to be taught in scouts been true?
I know the scout motto is be prepared... but is this taking it too far?
Will their be a practical, and do we need to bring bananas?

How about this for some fundraising!
Submitted by Harry on Mon, 01/06/2009 - 21:44Maybe its a long shot but i think doing this would be fun, and possibly raise some money if we are lucky
A photo competition showing wildlife, and you submit a portfolio of 5 photos, or as many as you want.
http://www.bwpawards.org/young-awards/
How about next time we go on a hike, or camp, or anything outdoors try and bring a camera. It means we will get tons of photos for facebook and our website, and if we get 5 really good ones we can enter them.
The portfolios should have a theme, like: Urban habitats, or creatures of the sky or something, but we should just take loads of photos and then choose a theme afterwards!
Ill probably be entering as an individual but i thought it looked cool

Easter Camp!
Submitted by Harry on Thu, 09/04/2009 - 18:58At 12.30, i arrived at the hut to be greeted by several other explorers, but as expected, no leaders!
Rachel and PC Paul arrived, and another half an hour later the graham and andy arrived, bemused as to our boredom.
We set off on the seven hour journey to Pinsent Campsite, and arrived with all our equiptment, thanks to the help of Mr Day, and used the amazing quality wheelbarrows to take our stuff to 'north' camp.
Tbh i can't remember most of monday night but i'm sure it was similar to the other evenings and consisted of sitting around the campfire and listening to bad jokes!
Tuesday was the day in which we visited Winchester. Firstly we walked to the town centre, and a couple of explorers took a longer route
and then we took a tour of the cathedral. Andy and Graham attempted to make chicken noises as we went through the religious building, and the tour buit up to a climax in which Andy farted noisily.
We spent the rest of the day hanging around the town, drinking SHake-a-ways, and making fun of some guy who looked like a bit of a weirdo.
Wednesday was the day of our hike! After a late start we walked up to the top of some hill, took some photos, and hiked back again.
Of course we walked loads faster than the leaders and beat them back, which meant we won
Highlight of the camp have to be:
Keiran lighting some amazing farts. (Actually he lit two, the rest were crap)
Scaring Rachel!
Liam getting pummeled by a high speed tennis ball
All in all it was an eggciting weekend, and I'm not eggsagerating! A fine eggsample of a good camp!
The weather held off for us and even Coggy came down for an evening around the campfire. It was enjoyed by all that went, possibly even wookie!

Harry, Robyn, Katie and Mark win the TROPHY!
Submitted by Harry on Fri, 27/02/2009 - 23:06Once again, not for the first or probably the last time i am going to remind all of you that we won the hike
Even with several seriously injured teammates, we pulled through.
I think it had nothing to do with my map-reading, which took us to the general right area, even if we did go over the motorway instead of under it!
I still think Robyns sixth sense was rather freaky but I think we would have definetly got lost without it!
We avoided numerous murderers in the West Walk and im sure everyone in the team (and on the hike) Would agree that Sea Dragon had the best base!
Team 4 took a year to put their tent up whilst they all argued. Beside them was Mark and I Gracefully erecting my two man
That was satisfying.
All in all a good successful hike, although i think we could have gone a bit further
And maybe not got so muddy: Mark and Robyn.
Or fallen down a mountain: Katy
Or gone the wrong, and incredibly longer, route: Harry
I still dont think my team realise just how much longer we all walked because of that
Well thankyouu everyone who was there
Even the crap teams
