Presentation evening
Fantastic effort folks, and great to see so many parents there. A big thank-you to all who took part, bonus points all round. Also a special 10 point bonus to Harry H-B (sharper than your average pencil!) for putting together such a brilliant Powerpoint.
It was slightly disappointing though that only 17 explorers turned up - only half the unit - and so only half the parents got to see what we had been up to & more importantly, how our trip to Canada is to be organised and financed. It will be those parents who will be worrying about the cost of the trip, unaware of the extent of our plans for making the trip more affordable.
For those who weren't there, the DC 'bigged us up' big-time and handed out Young Leader Badges to all who completed their Module A training, Andy finally got his warrant changed from assistant cub leader to assistant explorer leader (only 6 years late) and I got a badge for 25 years as a leader (another error by district, because as you know, I am only 27!
Don't forget we are meeting at Everett's on Friday, but the camp is not on, so you'll need to get picked up at 9-30. You will need to come back on Sunday though because there is a work party to do some more tree felling, ditch clearance, etc. More opportunity to get the Environment or Service part of the chief scout award passed off, so don't miss it!
